RCMS is a system that allows personnel in the office of the terminal or port to
monitor the RTGs (Rubber Tyred Gantry Crane) and Gantry Crane in real time. The system includes server to be installed in to the office, the WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) infrastructure between the office and the RTGs and the connection of the WLAN at both end.

RCMS includes three ways to monitor or follow the performance of the RTGs. The performance can be monitored in real time. Such data can be for instance the current power of the hoist motor or the current speed of the main generator in any of the RTG. The crane performance can also be monitored as database basis within a certain time frame. As an example the number of moved containers within last 12 hours by any of the RTG can be checked. The third way for monitoring is the optional service database. It includes all the necessary maintenance that is needed for the cranes. It also tells if all services that were needed have also been performed.
